Preserve and Protect: Challenge & Innovate

Caoimhe Kilfeather

Caoimhe Kilfeather studied at the National College of Art and Design, Dublin (BA) and the Slade School of Fine Art, London (MA). Kilfeather develops her work through studio-based practice. The act of engaging with materials and developing forms in an open and exploratory way is central to this. She mostly works with raw and industrial materials such as coal, cement, lead, rubber and timber. She believes in the fundamentality of the material, and of the experience of seeing and feeling real things in real space. The work she makes is informed by her own (local), personal experience of the objects, shapes and structures that surround her. She is represented by the Green on Red Gallery.
