Preserve and Protect: Challenge & Innovate
Damien Flood graduated from the National College of Art & Design, Dublin in 2008 with an MA in Fine Art. On his work, Flood comments, “My work is grounded in early writings on philosophy, theology, alchemy and the natural sciences. I use these as starting points to explore the mutability of ‘reality’ and language. The paintings I create are modern landscapes that reference the history of painting with an underlying, otherworldly element. These paintings can be seen as visual contradictions and incomplete. Using the notion of defunct belief systems I endeavour to look at the world anew and question the mundane and everyday around us.” He is represented by the Green on Red Gallery.
