Preserve and Protect: Challenge & Innovate
Magnhild Opdøl was born in Norway and is now living and working in Dublin, having achieved a BA and an MFA from the National College of Art and Design. On her work Opdøl comments, “In recent works I’ve created moments of stillness, a feeling of having missed the “happening” and being caught in the moment after. You’re in the woods, you hear something behind you, but by the time you’ve turned around its gone, and you just see the empty woods, maybe a trembling branch as a trace of what was there.” Opdøl’s work is in many public and private collections such as Haugesund Billedgalleri, Tor Juul Private Collection and Kunstmuseet KUBE, Norway, as well as the Chapter One Restaurant and the Office of Public Works, Ireland.
