Dublin Art Competetion 2014

Preserve and Protect: Challenge & Innovate

Mark Joyce

Mark Joyce was born in Dublin and received an MA in Painting from the Royal College of Art, London in 1993. Since 2000 he has been working with ideas of physical light, pulling colours across a surface, creating paths of solid light and a charged space behind. The viewer encounters aspects of a scientific discourse played out physically in the artwork. Mark’s interest in this area is driven by human curiosity about the anomalies and strangeness of the physical world. He is a founding member of The Drawing Project, Dublin and is a lecturer in the Faculty of Film, Art and Creative Technologies at Dun Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design and Technology. He is represented by the Green on Red Gallery.
