Preserve and Protect: Challenge & Innovate

Nick Miller

Nick Miller was born in London. He attended the University of East Anglia, graduating in Development Studies in 1984 and moved to Ireland later that year. A member of Aosdána since 2001, he currently lives and works in Sligo. Miller has spent the last three decades refining the focus of his interest, he has moved with dexterity and conviction to and from the figure, portraiture, and the constructed still life. All are connected by a common approach to working only directly in the presence of his subject. His larger scale landscapes are made inside a truck converted for use as a mobile studio, to enable longer periods of working outdoors. He is represented by Rubicon Projects /Rubicon Gallery.
