Nicola Henley
Nicola Henley was born in Bristol, England. She studied Fine Art Textiles at Goldsmith’s College, London (1984), and has exhibited widely in Ireland, the U.K. and abroad. Henley moved to Clare in 1991 to set up a studio and continued working on large scale artworks, based on her interest in nature and wildlife. She is inspired by birds and their movement, their relationship to the sky, sea and land. Her work is made by a combination of dying, painting, and screen-printing cotton calico and texturing the surface with various materials such as handmade Japanese paper and silk.
