Mary Ann is the Chief Underwriting Officer for our environmental insurance unit. Her primary responsibilities include management of the executive underwriting, policy contract legal counsel and risk control staff. She also leads the group in new product development. Mary Ann has previously served as Eastern Regional Manager, Manager of the Assistant Underwriter Staff and Senior Underwriter.
Mary Ann has 22 years of combined experience in environmental insurance and engineering consulting. Before joining XL Group, she spent eight years as a project engineer and worked on remedial design projects preparing design packages, performed site characterizations for storm water practices for industrial clients, prepared closure plans for sanitary and hazardous waste landfills and chemical plant facilities, and initiated and directed the operation of a geosynthetic testing laboratory.
Mary Ann holds Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in civil engineering from Drexel University. She is certified as an instructor for environmental insurance by more than 15 State Insurance Departments.
