XL Capital Ltd Appoints Joseph C. Henry as Global Controller of XL Global Services

 — Hamilton, Bermuda (March 18, 2003) XL Capital Ltd (NYSE: XL) (“XL” or “the Company”) today announced that Joseph C. Henry has been appointed to the position of Executive Vice President and Global Controller of XL Global Services.
Mr. Henry will be responsible for overseeing financial reporting and planning, accounting, budgeting and financial analysis.
Mr. Henry joins XL after spending ten years at Meadowbrook Insurance Group where he was serving as Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer and Acting Chief Financial Officer, as well as President of Insurance Company Operations. Prior to that, he was Vice President of Finance and Administration for the Hanover Insurance Company from 1987 until 1993. Mr. Henry’s career began in 1974 as a manager for KPMG Peat Marwick. He was made Senior Manager in 1981 when he re-located to Bermuda to oversee the training and development of professional practices for Peat Marwick’s captive and reinsurance clients. In 1983, Mr. Henry became Audit Partner for Peat Marwick’s Boston-based insurance practice. He holds a B.B.A. from Bernard M. Baruch College of the City University of New York and is a CPA.
