XL Insurance Appoints Diann O. Jones to Atlanta-Based Business Development Position

NEW YORK, October 16, 2008 – XL Insurance, XL Capital Ltd’s global insurance operations, today announced the appointment of Diann O. Jones to business development director for the Southeast region. Ms. Jones will be based in Atlanta, reporting to XL Insurance’s Regional Executive Gary Bakalar.
Mr. Bakalar said: “We’re fortunate to have someone with Diann’s underwriting knowledge and market experience step into this newly created position and assist brokers in the region. Her comprehensive understanding of property and casualty as well as specialty insurance coverages aligns very well with XL Insurance’s portfolio of coverages.”

Ms. Jones joins XL Insurance from Maxum Specialty Insurance Company where she was responsible for overall marketing and sales strategy and led the company’s research and development of new products and services. Her professional career includes various underwriting, marketing and business development positions with the St. Paul’s Companies, Chubb, and CNA Insurance. A graduate of the University of Michigan, she holds a Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation.
