XL strengthens regional UK underwriting team London, UK – 22 November, 2011 - XL Group plc (“XL”) (NYSE: XL) today announced the appointment of a property and casualty underwriter for its regional Birmingham office.

To strengthen XL services offered in the Midlands region, Robert Dawes has been appointed as Property/Casualty Package Underwriter, Middle Markets, Midlands. Mr. Dawes has 10+ years of underwriting and broking experience with a focus on SMEs and larger corporate risks. He joins from Allianz where his most recent role was Business Developer with responsibility for the development and growth of the property and casualty business in the Midlands area.
