Philippe Rochaix was appointed President and Chief Operating Officer for XL Re Latin America Ltd in 2010. He has over 20 years of experience in the international insurance industry, primarily in reinsurance. He began his career developing artificial intelligence underwriting systems in the US before transitioning to reinsurance in Tokyo and Singapore.
Before joining XL Group (through the acquisition of Le Mans Re) in 1999, Philippe was responsible for the Asia Pacific broking business of Le Blanc de Nicolaÿ. In 2003 he moved to France, where he held various managing, underwriting and business development roles with responsibility for Continental Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Philippe holds an Engineering Master degree in artificial intelligence from ESIEA and an MBA in International Finance from HEC, both in Paris.
