Bertrand leads our Reinsurance property treaty team. A civil engineer by training, he has spent his entire career at XL Group. During the first 10 years, he underwrote many large reinsurance risks as a property faculty underwriter and manager. For the last 10 years, he has been deeply involved in developing our property treaty reinsurance portfolio in Europe. His catastrophe and per risk underwriting expertise helped us become one of the major players in those fields in most European countries. His multinational knowledge is an advantage in advising clients on structure and market options.
In addition to his role as leader of our property treaty team, Bertrand is a Managing Director and the General Manager for XL Re Europe, France.
