'Preserve & Protect : Challenge & Innovate'

XL Group Open Submission Exhibition - Submission Criteria and Frequently Asked Questions

As an Irish-domiciled company, the landmark former Hibernian United Services Club on St. Stephen’s Green is a central location for XL Group.  To mark the opening of the restored and converted space, and working in association with Business to Arts, XL Group will host an exhibition of work titled ‘Preserve & Protect : Challenge & Innovate’ from which they will purchase a number of works created in and associated with Ireland.

XL Group are international risk specialists in all kinds of Property, Casualty, Financial and Specialty risks, offering expertise, capacity and worldwide capabilities across many areas of businesses, as well as to museums and collectors of fine art.

Following an extended period when the Irish art market has suffered both from a reduction in State and local funding, along with a significant reduction in the resources of collectors, it is hoped XL Group’s engagement with contemporary visual arts in Ireland will create conversation in the business sector and in the media about the arts and its benefit to business in Ireland.

XL Group is calling on Irish artists, galleries, and artists based in Ireland for three years or more, to submit work for consideration by the panel of local experts. A shortlist of approximately 15 works will be exhibited in the Dublin office in May 2014 and it is intended that a number of works will be selected for purchase by the company.

The deadline for submission to the exhibition has now passed and submissions are no longer being accepted. A shortlist of the works chosen for exhibition will be posted here shortly.
